Improbable Fiction New Works Series
July 24, 2024

Join us and see the WORLD PREMIERE performances of three original works! Playwrights from around the region, the country, and even the world have been invited to submit new works in one of three categories: Young Voices (for playwrights ages 16-24), Diverse Perspectives (for LGBTQIA+ playwrights), and Shakes-pired (for pieces inspired by, derived from, or an homage to Shakespeare, his plays, and/or his characters). All submissions will be blindly scored by a panel of adjudicators, and the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival will produce the top-ranked show in each category with a fully-staged production or staged reading. The performance will be followed by a reception and discussion with the artistic team.

Merely Players

Our troupe of young players cordially invite you to join them for a performance! This troupe of young performers and technicians will explore avenues of bringing Shakespeare-inspired art to the Chippewa Valley while also gaining valuable experience and professional mentorship. The troupe will be facilitated by one or more “artist-mentors,” who will work alongside the young performers and guide them in their self-directed summer experience.
